Gertrude Vincent

Gertrude Cecilia Vincent, 95, of Henderson Kentucky was peacefully called home to our Lord and Savior on March 1, 2021. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Gerald Vincent. Gertrude was born on March 21, 1925. She held a Bachelor of Science from Western Kentucky State College and devoted 31 years as an elementary school teacher to her students who she loved so dearly.  As a faithful follower of Christ, the only type of love she knew how to give was unconditional and through her eyes the only thing she saw was beauty. She was also a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Throughout her life Gertrude loved adding more beauty to the world with her passion for flowers. If the weather was nice you always knew you could find her at one of her many flower beds. She also loved spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren. She touched the hearts of anyone who knew her and just wanted for everyone to have a happy life. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished by her three sons: Jerry Vincent and his wife Jan; Keith Vincent and his wife Tina; Gary Vincent and his wife Rebecca ; as well as her five grandchildren to whom she meant the world and her many great-grandchildren whom she loved fiercely.  A celebration of life will be held for immediate family in her hometown of Smith Mills, KY. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Smith Mills Cemetary on Monday, March 8, 2021. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
