It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Grace Aline Russell, who passed away on July 30, 2025 under the care of St. Anthony's Hospice, at the age of 95. Born on November 27, 1929, in Henderson, Kentucky to the late Roy and Minnie Bell Wilson. Grace lived a life characterized by love and devotion .
Grace was a proud homemaker who dedicated herself to her family and community, serving as a cherished member of Bethel Baptist Church for over 50 years. Her faith was central to her life, and she actively contributed by teaching Sunday school and nurturing the spiritual growth of countless children. In addition to her deep commitment to her church, Grace found joy in reading, sewing, and gardening, hobbies that allowed her to express her creativity and connect with the beauty of the world around her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Russell; daughter, Alice Sunday; sister, Elinora Stevens; two brothers, Leroy Wilson and Woodrow Wilson and niece, Judy Zahn.
Grace is survived by her loving daughter, Lori Carter; her four granddaughters, Miranda White (Seth), Erica Decker (James), Alicia Shelton (Wes) , and Callie Sunday; seven great grandchildren, Caleb Decker, Arianna Decker, Allina Decker, Xander Pruitt, Tyler Lindsey, Leyton Sunday and Peyton Sunday; one great great grandchild, Everlynn Decker and several nieces, nehpews and cousins, who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
Funeral services for Grace Aline Russell will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, August 5 at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson with Pastor Russell Wood officiating.
Visitation will be 10:30 until service time, Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Wes Shelton, John Shelton, Dillion Shelton, Darryl Carter, Caleb Decker and James Decker.
