Green Bailey, 90, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family and under the compassionate care of St. Anthony's Hospice.
He was born on January 31, 1936, in Swampton, Kentucky, to the late A.D. and Mary (Conley) Bailey.
Green proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years, where he worked in radio communications. Following his military retirement, he continued his career with the Commonwealth of Kentucky, serving for many years as a maintenance supervisor before retiring.
A faithful member of University Church in Murray, Kentucky, Green enjoyed a life centered on faith, family, and service. In his spare time, he loved dancing and sharing his musical talents by playing the mandolin. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, dedication to his family, and the joy he found in music.
In addition to his parents, Green was preceded in death by his daughter, Gail Harris; his first wife, Wanda Bailey; seven brothers; and five sisters.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of five years, Carolyn Rose (Griffin) Bailey; his son, Greg Bailey (Dina); his daughter, Gwen Pruitt (Ronnie); his stepson, Crit Bruner (Kathy); his stepdaughter, Debbie Stone; his son-in-law, John Harris; his granddaughters, Christine Jones and Stephanie Branson; and his great-grandson, Jack Jones, along with many extended family members and dear friends.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the caregivers of St. Anthony's Hospice for the compassionate care and support they provided to Green and his family.
There will be no services.
