Helen Spencer

April 24, 1924 — December 16, 2017

Helen Spencer, 93, of Henderson passed away Saturday, December 16, 2017 at St. Anthony’s Hospice Lucy Smith King Care Center.  Helen was a dedicated Christian lady who loved the Lord. She was a member of Airline Baptist Church.  Helen was born in West Louisville, Kentucky on April 24, 1924 to the late James William and Commie “Zella” Cosby (Dixon) Clouse.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Earl J. Spencer on December 16, 1991, daughter Earlene Owens and brother Jack Clouse.  Survivors include 4 children Norma Wilkerson and husband Shirley of Ohio, Glenda Butler and husband Doug of Henderson, Thomas E. Spencer and wife Mary of Seattle, Washington, James Darrell and wife Laurie of Louisville,  brother-in-law Eddie Owens of Owensboro, 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.  Services will be at 12:15 PM Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Airline Baptist Church.  Bro. Nathan Whisnant will officiate.  Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery.  Visitation will be Thursday 10:00 AM until noon at Airline Baptist Church. The pallbearers will be grandchildren.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Airline Baptist Church.
