Herman "Eddie" Rogers

Herman “Eddie” Rogers, 80, of Sebree, passed away Monday, January 24, 2022 at his home under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice. He was born in Shelbyville, Kentucky on September 1, 1941 to the late Robert W. and Anna Katherine (McDonald) Rogers. Eddie was a horse trainer and outrider at Ellis Park for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Earl Rogers and 2 sisters Bonnie Early and Linda Taylor. Survivors include 1 sister Ruth Rogers; 3 children Edwina Gilmore (Barry), Dennis Trent Rogers, Becky Sellars (Derrick); 2 bonus children Josh Ashby (Jessica), Jonathan Ashby (Jenifer); companion Diane Ashby; 7 grandchildren Taylor Gilmore, Shelby Gilmore McKinley Gilmore, Zoey Rogers, Ellis Rogers, Dalton Sellars, Aubree Sellars; 4 bonus grandchildren Jake Ashby, Katie Ashby, Miles Ashby and Ella Rose Ashby. Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Saturday February 5, 2022 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Sebree Chapel with Josh Ashby officiating. Visitation will be noon Saturday until service time at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony’s Hospice.
