Hilda Sue Edwards

Hilda Sue (Strouse) Edwards, 83 of Sebree, KY passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville, KY.

She was born in Pride, KY on February 26, 1939 to the late Estell and Mary Sue (Nall) Strouse.

Hilda was a 73 year member of Sebree First Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for 46 years. She worked for several small businesses in Sebree and in 1978 opened Edwards Florist from which she retired in 2015. Since then she has worked at Tomblinson Funeral Home and Bell’s Drug Store until December 2022. She enjoyed family and friends, playing cards and cooking. All holidays were enjoyed at “Hilda’s Holiday House”. Her door was open to all.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Marion Seay (Sonny) Edwards.

Hilda is survived by four children; Marty (Kathy) Edwards of Sebree, KY, Don (Terri) Edwards of Sebree, KY, Karen (Dennis) Shelton of Sebree, KY and Andrea (Shane) Browning of Madisonville, KY, Brother Gene (Sheila) Strouse of Jacksonville, FL, 8 Grandchildren; Kari Jo Edwards, Cory Edwards, Krista (Caleb) Crowley, Cameron Shelton, Collin Shelton, Kelseay Shelton, Calen (Katelyn) Browning and Colton Browning. 4 great grandchildren; Karoline Riddle, Kate Riddle, Clayton Crowley and Case Browning.

Services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday Feb 4th at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Sebree. Bro Shane Browning and Bro Dylan Zahn will officiate.

Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery in Sebree, KY.

Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 until 7:00 and Saturday 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
