Holly Renee (Vanover) Mattingly, 38, of Henderson passed away Friday, December 7, 2012, at Vanderbilt University Hospital. Born in Owensboro, KY, on November 9, 1974, to Roger Vanover and Phyllis (Murphy) Myles, Holly graduated Henderson County High School in 1992 and held a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Southern Indiana. She was preceded in death by her father Roger Vanover and her grandparents Harold and Opal Murphy, grandmother Iona Vanover and grandmother Rachel Vanover. She is survived by her husband, Tony Mattingly. She is also survived by her mother Phyllis Myles of Owensboro, her grandfather Morton Vanover of Sacramento KY, children Ashley Renee Frederick and Logan Tyler Frederick of Henderson, sister Julie Bridgmon of Owensboro, brother Matthew Vanover of Henderson, and nieces and nephews. Holly is also survived by her devoted friend and caregiver, Beth Mattingly. Holly was a sports enthusiast and avid football fan who enjoyed fishing and camping. She loved reading and vacationing. She was a Mickey Mouse devotee and Disney fan; she enjoyed watching Disney films with her children and travelling to Walt Disney World. As a cancer survivor, Holly was a tough-as-nails fighter determined to persevere for the family she loved more than anything. Holly appreciated the simple and most important things in life, and was always cheerful, gracious, and forgiving. In her years of fighting illness, she showed a strength of character and devotion to her family at which most of us can only marvel. Visitation will be held 2 PM to 8 PM Sunday December 9 and 8:30-12 PM Monday December 10 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. Funeral services will be 12 PM Monday, December 10 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. Entombment will be at Fairmont Cemetery. Pastor Kevin Seaton will officiate. Pallbearers will be Carl Frederick, David Haley, Glover Myles, Wayne Vanover, Bill Fambrough and David Mattingly.
