Hugh Garland Crawford

Hugh Garland Crawford, 80, of Henderson, Kentucky passed away to his heavenly home Tuesday, May 20th , 2025. He was surrounded by family at the home of his niece and nephew in Newburgh, Indiana.

Hugh was born August 16th, 1944 in Henderson, Kentucky, a son of the late Barney and Ruth Crawford. Hugh proudly served in the United States Air Force and later dedicated 23 years as a truck driver with Yellow Freight, where he was a proud member of the Teamsters union. He was a committed member of the Freemasons and generously gave his time as a volunteer with the Hebbardsville Fire Department. He was a devoted Christian and attended Cash Creek baptist church in Henderson where he created many lifelong friendships. Hugh spent his free time fishing, tinkering with his tractors, and with his loved ones. Hugh was an animal lover and dedicated his time to his black lab Hank who sat at the kitchen table to eat dinner with him. Hugh was known for his quick-witted humor and tireless work ethic, he was a man who believed in the power of hard work.

Hugh was greeted by his late wife Judy Crawford of 9 years, as well as James David Crawford (brother), Joyce Stallings (sister), Merle Crawford (brother), and Derek Crawford (brother). He is survived by his nieces and nephews, as well as his great nieces and great nephew.

Services will be 12:00 PM Wednesday May 28, 2025 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel with Dr. Bill Patterson officiating.

Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery with military rites conducted by the American Legion Worsham Post 40 Honor Guard.

Visitation will be Tuesday 4-7 PM and Wednesday 10 AM until service time at the funeral home.
