Hugh Edward Stone, 67, of Robards, passed away Sunday April 26, 2015 at Henderson Nursing and Rehab. He was born in Henderson on April 30, 1947 to Hugh A. and Sarah Ann (Hunter) Stone. Hugh was a 1965 graduate from Webster County High School. He was a retired Major from the Henderson City Police and also worked for the Henderson County Sherriff’s Department. Hugh was a detective for L&N Railroad, a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and a member of Bellfield Baptist Church. He was also an avid drag racer. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother Larry Stone and his dog and special friend Roscoe. Survivors include his wife Sue Stone Mother: Sarah Ann Stone of Henderson 2 Sons: Tom Stone of Henderson Jim Stone and his wife Lisa of Henderson 2 Sisters: Dianne Roy of Corydon Cheryl Stone of Corydon 1 Brother: Steve Stone of Henderson 3 Grandchildren: Ashley Durham, Rachel Tanaka and Brittany Duckworth 7 Great-grandchildren Services will be 11:00 AM Thursday April 30, 2015 at Bellfield Baptist Church. Bro. Jonathan Keyes will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Henderson County. Visitation will be Wednesday 2:00 PM-8:00 PM at Bellfield Baptist Church and Thursday 9:00 AM until service time at the church. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Pleasant Valley Cemetery Fund C/O Glenn Kerr, 1377 Hwy. 416 E., Henderson, KY Pallbearers will be David Stone, Donald Roy, Mitchell Stone, Jake Tanaka, Codie Durham and Zach Duckworth. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Worsham Post #40 Honor Guard. Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel is handling arrangements.
