Hunter Kennington Comer

Hunter Kennington Comer, 28, of Henderson passed away Friday, June 9, 2023.

He was born in Henderson on August 21, 1994. Hunter was a 2013 graduate of Henderson County High School where he was a standout quarterback on the Henderson County Football team and member of the Henderson County Basketball team. He then attended University of the Cumberlands on a football scholarship and excelled as a collegiate athlete. Hunter received his bachelor’s degree in accounting in 2017. He was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. Hunter enjoyed skateboarding, golfing, trivia and art. He was a history buff and loved listening to true crime podcasts. Hunter loved his huge family and friends and adored his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents William and Sharon Comer, maternal grandmother Gladys Buckman and nephew Ryan Comer.

Survivors include his wife Madison Comer; parents Kennie and Angela Comer of Henderson; two brothers Tyler Comer (Shelley), Codie Comer (Erin) all of Henderson; one sister Hadlie Long (Spencer) of Greenville, Kentucky; maternal grandfather Charlie Buckman; nieces and nephews Emma Jock, Silas Comer, Charlie Comer and two nieces and nephews on the way; several aunts, uncles and cousins and his beloved companions Hopper, Capone, Luna, Scooter and Tinlie.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday June 14, 2023 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Richard Meredith officiating.

Visitation will be Tuesday 2-8PM at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church and 9:00 AM until funeral mass Wednesday at the church.

Burial will be in St. Louis Cemetery in Henderson.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Comer, Codie Comer, Spencer Long, Avery Pitt, Marshall Garrett, Dalton Nation, Isham Peace and Jake Peace.

The Comer family has requested donations be made to New Hope Animal Rescue, 526 Atkinson St. Henderson, KY 42420 in lieu of flowers.
