Imogene Elizabeth Lewis

Imogene Elizabeth Lewis, 88, of Henderson, passed away Friday, October 21, 2022, at Henderson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice.

Imogene was born in Hillsdale, Indiana, on April 26, 1934, to the late John and Margaret (Salmond) Jackson.

Imogene married her husband of 59 years, Warren Lewis, in 1960. She was a loving wife, mother of 2, and grandmother of 6 who valued time with her family more than anything else. She was an avid crafter and sewer, who loved to care for her family and never turned down a game of cards. Her grandchildren lovingly called her “Nenau.” Imogene was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church since 1972.

In addition to her parents, Imogene was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Lewis, and brothers, Johnny and Harry Jackson.

Imogene is survived by her daughter Janet (Bob) Niehaus of Henderson, KY; son Doug Lewis of Henderson, KY; sister Rosie Simokat of Hurricane, WV; and six grandchildren: Katie Niehaus, Brandon Niehaus, Darin Lewis, Brett Lewis, Caitlin (Devan) Wallace, and Seth Lewis.

Relatives and friends are invited to Imogene’s Celebration of Life from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 25, and again on Wednesday, October 26, starting at 9:00 a.m. at Tomblinson Funeral Home, Henderson Chapel.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with Reverend Amy Call officiating.

Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY. Imogene’s grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
