Ishmal W. Miller Jr. was born on July 1, 1938 to Ishmal Sr. and Francis Miller. He passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, IN. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Billy Wayne Miller of Robards; his son, Anthony Joe “Andy” Miller of Henderson; and his loving wife of 61 years, Gloria June Davis Miller. Jr. is survived by his two children, with whom he was very close, Angel Burns (Drew) of Owensboro and John Miller (Johna) of Robards; six grandchildren, Amanda Stone of Uniontown, Jake Miller of Henderson, Kelsey Fulkerson of Henderson, Macey Fulkerson of Robards Logan Miller of Robards, and Connor Miller of Robards; and six great grandchildren. Jr. retired from Whirlpool Corp. in Evansville after 44 years of service. He was always a hard-working man. When he wasn’t working at Whirlpool, he was working on the farm raising tobacco, planting crops, and tending cattle. He and June loved to travel, and they did so often, especially after his retirement. Jr. bought an Airstream camper and joined an Airstream Club where they made many life-long friends. When numbers in the club dwindled or when folks could no longer manage their campers, the friendships continued. Throughout the year they stayed in touch and got together for Christmas dinner. Jr. was a member of Robards Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and life-long member. The past few years, his two favorite things were going to church and “Teatime” every afternoon at Hugh Walter Seller’s man shack, which involved drinking coffee and eating good food with all the real good ole Robards guys and farmers. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Robards Baptist Church with Bro. Jeff Hesley officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 2 from 4-8 p.m. at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson and Thursday, February 3 from 8 a.m. until service time at the church. Pallbearers will be Logan Miller, Connor Miller, Hugh Sellars, Larry Ray, Buggs Higdon, Chad Hopgood, and Jake Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Abrams, Mack Hoffman, and Jerry Schuck.
