Jack Lloyd Haynes, 70, of Mount Vernon, Illinois peacefully passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Joy Haynes as well as his sister Jenny Haynes and brother Jerry C. Haynes.
He graduated from Henderson High School in the class of 1970 and was a member of First Baptist Church in Henderson, Kentucky.
Jack served in the United States Army stationed in Stuttgart, Germany from 1971 to 1974. After returning to Fort Knox, Kentucky he was honorably discharged.
He moved to Mt. Vernon where he worked at an MRI trucking company servicing many of the smaller towns.
Jack’s life was his many true friends and neighbors. He had an enormous and giving heart which touched many people along his path, always ready to help as soon and in any way he was needed. He was an avid golfer, a card shark and a supporter of the University of Kentucky Wildcats. During his journey he was a true competitor in all aspects of his life.
He is survived by his loving sister Johanna Winn, Houston, Texas, his brother John D. Haynes, Booneville, Indiana. Also survived by his cherished niece Laura Winn Williams, nephews Wes Winn, John Haynes and Jeffrey Haynes. In addition, his life-long best friend Tom Knight and special thanks to his friend Judy Hayes, Mount Vernon, Illinois who unconditionally supported him throughout his illness.
A graveside gathering was held on April 15th at Fernwood Cemetery, Henderson Kentucky with Pastor Richard O’Daniel officiating.
