Jake Shaw

Jake Shaw, beloved son, ornery brother, and doting uncle left this physical world Sunday April 16, 2017. Jake was a precocious young man with a passion for pestering his 3 older sisters, eliciting colorful words from his mother with only a pinch on her arm "fat" and finding profound meaning in life at an earlier age than most. Jake was also fearless, yet kind, and possessed an intense love of music. One of his favorite artists, Kurt Cobain, spoke these words he could relate to and helped define his philosophy on life and death – "If you die you're completely happy and your soul somewhere lives on." Jake is loved by many. His friends are family. His father was his best friend and they did everything together. Frothing, camping, and fishing were just a few of the many activities they enjoyed together. He is preceded in death by his grandmothers: Phynelaphy Shaw and Judy Whelan and grandfather Mike Shaw. Jake is survived by his father and mother, Jamie Shaw and Cathy Jo Melton. Sisters: Nikki Morton, Beth Wright, and Jade Shaw,and little bro Kade Melton, Niece and nephews: Nick, Jakobi, and Natalie Morton, his beloved dog Grizzly and an entire family of friends. Please join us to celebrate his life at 1:00PM CST, Friday April 21, 2017 at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson. Pastor Kevin Stone will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday 2-8PM and Friday 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Honorary pallbearers will be Henry Fowler, Polo, Jeager, Ethan Stone, Hayden Powell, Nick Gallegos and Zoso Rickard. In lieu of flowers please bring photos, memories, and love. "Come As You Are."
