James Eugene Chambers

James Eugene Chambers, 89, of Henderson, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Deaconess Henderson Hospital. He was born on October 31, 1932 to the late Quincy and Edith (McElroy) Chambers. He was a truck driver and was known as a jokester. He enjoyed yardwork, mowing, working on vehicles, Bluegrass music. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Chambers, his brothers, and one sister. He is survived by his children, Sue Riggs (Richard) of Sebree, Nancy Miller (Robert) of Newburgh, IN, Carolyn Thomas (Glenn) of Henderson, and Sarah Piper (Jerry) of Henderson; seven grandchildren, Mark, Christy, Jason, Michael, Tiffany, Kyle, and Seth; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Ralph Chambers of Sebring, FL; sister, Mary Bedell of Oaktown, IN; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, August 22 at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson with Bro. Bob Hardison officiating. Burial will follow in Springdale Cemetery in Sebree. Visitation will be at the funeral home, Monday, August 22 from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour. Pallbearers will be Glenn Thomas, Jason Miller, Michael Miller, Richard Riggs, Jerry Piper, and Robert Miller.
