James J. Coffman, 91, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away on Wednesday December 2, 2015 in Millers Merry Manor, Wakarusa, IN. Jack was born on March 11, 1924, in Slaughters, KY, to the late Justice and Mary (Dowden) Coffman. On August 6, 1941, in Drakesboro, KY, James was married to the late Allie (Chandler). Jack is survived by his children: James (Lois) Coffman, of Goshen, IN, Bruce (Sandra) Coffman, of Osceola, IN, Justice (Jackie) Coffman, of Mishawaka, IN, Michael (Janice) Coffman, of Mishawaka, IN, Brenda Coffman, of Mishawaka, IN, Pam (Markus) Grecco, of Mishawaka, IN, 11 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. James is also survived by his siblings: Jean Fore, of St. Charles, IL, David (Wilma) Coffman, of Mishawaka, IN, Ralph (Margaret) Coffman, of Tulsa, OK, Roger (Patricia) Coffman, of Mishawaka, IN, and Jerry (Patricia) Coffman, of Yorktown, VA. Jack was preceded in death by his brother and sister in-law, Harold (Jeannie) Coffman, and brother in-law Scott Fore. Jack proudly served his country with United States Army. He was a WWII veteran and also received a purple heart Jack was a letter carrier for Mishawaka Post Office for 38 years. He also enjoyed farming, raising cows, and gardening. Visitation for Jack will be held on Saturday December 5, 2015, from 3-5 pm in Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, IN, 46545. A funeral service will begin at 5 pm. A graveside service will be held on Monday December 7, 2015 at 11 am Eastern Standard/ 10 am Central Standard Time in Slaughters Cemetery, Slaughters, KY.
