James Coleman "Red" West

James Coleman "Red" West, 93 of Robards, passed away on May 31, 2017 at his home. He was born in Henderson, KY on July 20, 1923 to the late Cohen and Anna McGroarty West. He was an United States Army veteran and a member of Airline Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 sisters and 3 brothers. He is survived by his wife of 70 years; Janie West of Robards, KY, his children; Janice (Buddy) Elkin of Robards, KY, Janet (Jim) Phillips of Robards, KY, Donna Adams of Henderson, KY, James Daniel (Bobbie) West of Robards, KY, Annita West of Henderson, KY, Arthur (Cathy) West of Henderson, KY, Rachel (Eugene) Goins of Robards, KY, sisters; Velma Hope of Henderson, KY, Magdalene Melton of Providence, KY, brother; Alvin West of Henderson, KY, 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 11:00 am at Airline Baptist Church in Henderson, KY. Brother Nathan Whisnant will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Friday from 4-8 pm at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson, KY and on Saturday from 9-11 am at Airline Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be grandchildren and great grandchildren. Full military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Worsham Post 40 Burial Detail.
