James Edward Duncan Jr.

James Edward Duncan Jr., a cherished resident of Corydon, passed away on March 25, 2024, at Lucy Smith King Care Center, surrounded by his devoted family. Born in Henderson to James Edward Duncan Sr. and Phyllis (Horn) Duncan, James leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

James was a skilled boiler maker by profession, but his true passions lay in the great outdoors. He found immense joy in activities like riding dirt bikes and 4-wheeling, but nothing quite compared to the thrill of cruising in his beloved 1972 Chevy Blazer alongside his beloved wife.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Edward Duncan Sr., as well as his sisters, Lisa Kaye Morris and his infant sister Barbara Duncan. James is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Nina Duncan; his sons, Scotty Duncan and Jeff Duncan (Nichole Smith; daughter Melissa Rutledge Megangee; sister Becky Walker; his mother, Phyllis Duncan; and his adoring grandchildren Trenton Smith, Jacob Smith, Amber Rose and Avery Megangee, Emily Ann Duncan, Natalie Lynn Duncan, Taylor Raye Duncan and James E Duncan “Jed”.

A celebration of James's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson, with Rev. Mary Wrye officiating. Visitation hours will take place from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at the funeral home, and on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony’s Hospice, honoring James's compassionate spirit and the exceptional care he received.

James will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his kind soul rest in eternal peace, and may his memories continue to bring comfort and solace to those who loved him
