James Ishmael "Buddy" Gibson Jr.

James Ishmael “Buddy” Gibson Jr. 79 of Henderson passed away Thursday September 24, 2015 at Methodist Hospital. He was born in Henderson County to the late James Ishmael Sr. and Hallie Elizabeth (Turner) Gibson on October 20, 1935. James was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church and a member of the American Legion. James had worked for the Henderson Fire Department. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son Thomas Larry Gibson and four brothers. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Wanda (Littlepage) Gibson. 2 Daughters: Tina Marie Rigdon of Henderson Ky. and Tammy Lee Thompson of Princeton In. 1 Son: James Ishmael Gibson III of Henderson Ky. 2 Sisters: Etta Nesbitt of NC. And Nellie Coffman of Henderson 1: Brother Herman Gibson of TX. 8: Grandchildren and 8 Great-Grandchildren Services will be 2:00 P.M Monday September 28, 2015 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. Father Larry McBride will officiate. Burial will be at St. Louis Cemetery where military rights being conducted by American Legion Worsham Post 40 Burial detail. Visitation will be Sunday 4-8 P.M at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel where prayers will be said at 7:00 P.M and on Monday 10 AM to 1 PM Pallbearers will be Bruce Abbott, Ernest Green, Rodney Shelton, Mike Dukes, Darrell Lacer and Richard Humphrey. Expressions of Sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Holy Name Building Fund.
