James H. Smith

James Henry Smith, 84 of Henderson passed away March 20, 2021 at Redbanks Nursing Home. James was born in Henderson to the late George and Josephine (Trimborn) Smith. James was member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church and was a brick mason.  In his younger days he enjoyed bowling and taking his son fishing. James was a wonderful husband and father who always had a smile on his face. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Shirley Smith and his siblings, Charles Smith, Thomas Smith, William Smith, Anna Theresa Smith, Mary Louise Mingus, Sister Mary Frances Josephine, Agnes Thurmond, George Smith, and Catherine Spalding. James is survived by his son Luther Smith (Sheila); his brother and sister Frank Smith of Evansville and Helen Tuebner of Missouri; grandson Joshua Keister (Leandra), granddaughter Beth Collins (Jared) and 6 Great Grandchildren Cadence, Mavrick, Kamren, Griffin, Hunter and Millie Kate; sister-in-law, Margaret Smith of Henderson. There will be a private family only Funeral Mass at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Larry McBride officiating. Burial will be in St Louis Cemetery in Henderson.
