James C. Hicks, 92, of Henderson, Kentucky passed away July 30, 2011 at Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson, Kentucky. He was born in Henderson, Kentucky to James Coleman and Elsie (Kockritz) Hicks on April 16, 1919. He was a veteran of the Army Air force and graduated from Boeing Aircraft School. He served as a crew chief to a B-17 Bomber named “The Dutchess”. He was also a farmer and member of Bellfield Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Phyllis Jean (Duncan), sister Marie Freeman, brother Thomas Hicks, and an infant son. He is survived by: 1 son James C. Hicks Jr. of Henderson, Kentucky 3 daughters: Nancy Richardson of Henderson, Kentucky Gloria Jean Lemmons of Henderson, Kentucky Julie Marie Haire of Henderson, Kentucky 7 Grandchildren Great-grandchildren Services will be Tuesday August 2, 2011 at 11AM at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. Visitation will be Monday August 1, 2011 from 5-8PM and Tuesday 9AM until service time. Bro. Basinger will be officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmont Cemetery in Henderson, Kentucky
