James Charles Hope, 88 of Robards passed away Thursday October 23, 2014 at Lucy Smith King Care Center. He was born September 12, 1926 in Browder Ky. to the late Ellis Albert and Lena (Lear) Hope. He was retired from Alcan as a Maintenance Foreman. He was also a U.S Army WWII Veteran where he was a paratrooper. After the service he became a Merchant Seaman in the Great Lake area, member of the American Legion Worsham post 40, a Kentucky Colonel, he was a duly commissioned and Honorary Ambassador of Labor and a Honorary Captain of the Belle of Louisville. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Albertine Johnson and two brothers Therman and Wilbur Hope. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Claudette Meyer Hope of Robards. 2 daughters: Deborah Hope Dyer of Kuttawa Ky. Teresa Hope Kloke and our precious son in law Tim Kloke of Geneva Ky. 1 son Stephen Keith Hope of Corydon Ky. 2 sisters Reva Lois Williams of Evansville In. and Willa Dean Ellison of Evansville In. 2 Brothers Gilbert Hope of Geneva Ky. and Albert Hope Jr. of Sarasota Fl. 9 Grandchildren 9 Great Grandchildren 1 Great Great Grandchild Several Nieces and Nephews Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M Wednesday at Tomblinson funeral Home Henderson Chapel with Reverend Eddie Berry and Reverend Roger Willis officiating. Burial will be in Smith Mills Cemetery with full military rites by American Legion Worsham Post #40 of Henderson. Visitation will be Tuesday 4-8 at the funeral home and Wednesday 9:00 A.M until service time. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Saint Anthonys Hospice. Pallbearers will be Mike Hope,Greg Hope, Stephen Hope Brent Guffey, Tony Mcbride and Alan Williams.
