James Victor "Jimmy" Kerr, 55, of Slaughters passed away Thursday March 2, 2017 at Baptist Health in Madisonville. He was born in Dearborn, Michigan on July 2, 1961 to Jesse James and Sherrill Ann (Timmons) Kerr. He formerly worked at EMS Togo in Hopkinsville, served as Mayor of Nortonville for several years and owned and operated Kerr's Trenching in Nortonville. Jimmy was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Madisonville. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife Madora Kerr in September of 2016. Survivors include his mother Sherrill Simmons of Onton, 4 children Jamie Carol Julien of California, Devina Kerr of Nortonville, James Allen Kerr of Madisonville, Shayla Faye Kerr of Nortonville, 1 brother Larry Corum of Onton, 4 grandchildren Gage Julien, Zachary Cooke, Lacey Gibson and Waylon Kerr. Services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday March 7, 2017 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Sebree Chapel. Bro. Mark Eddings will officiate. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery in Slaughters. Visitation will be Monday 4-8PM and Tuesday 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Greg Ranes, Homer Sosh, Todd Vandygriff, Randy Franklin, Tanner Corum and Greg Miller.
