James Eldridge Martin, 72 of Henderson passed away 10:10 AM Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Redbanks. He was born October 5, 1941 in Sturgis, KY to Amos Eldridge and Mary Frances (Davis) Martin. James was an U.S. Air Force Veteran and a member of Eastview Baptist Church. He was retired from Lewis Bakeries in Evansville, IN and he had worked 14 years at Henderson Community College as a custodian. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister June Stone and daughter in law Christine Martin. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Martha Ann (Reynolds) Martin One son: Jeff Martin of Burns, TN 2 grandchildren: Sarah Martin Ben Martin both of Burns, TN One sister: Pat Johnson and her husband Gene of Princeton, KY One brother: Bill Martin and his wife Connie of Evansville, IN Nieces and nephews Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday April 19 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. Bro. Donnie Risley and Bro. Hollis Marshall will officiate. Burial will be in White Oak Cemetery in Webster County Saturday April 19 at 3:30 PM. Visitation will be 4:00 PM-8:00 PM Friday and 9:00 AM until service time Saturday at the funeral home Pallbearers will be Glenn Bentley, Sid Offutt, Jimmy Wingfield, Mike Johnson, Troy Reynolds and Kevin Tays. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Eastview Baptist Church or St. Anthony’s Hospice. Military rites will be conducted by Hopkins County Honor Guard.
