James Richard Mattingly

James Richard Mattingly, 91 of Henderson passed away Wednesday June 25, 2014 at St. Anthony’s Hospice Lucy Smith King Care Center. He was born in Henderson to James A. and Mary E. (Shively) Mattingly on December 6, 1922. He was a farmer and member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Waverly. He loved country music, storytelling and spending time with his friends and family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Albert Mattingly, Joseph R. Mattingly, John M. Mattingly and Charles R. Mattingly and 1 sister: Catherine Westerman. Survivors include 1 sister: Mary Gertrude Moore of Henderson 2 Sister-in-laws: Wanda Mattingly of Corydon, KY Marcelle Mattingly of Henderson Several nieces and nephews Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday June 28, 2014 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. Father Larry McBride will officiate. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Waverly. Visitation will be Friday 5-8 PM with a prayer service at 6pm and Saturday 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Terry Mattingly, Marvin Mattingly, Wayne Mattingly, Paul Fredrick, James Fredrick, Jim Davis and Joe Mattingly. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony’s Hospice.
