James Robert “Bob” Powell, 85, of Sebree, Kentucky passed away at 8:30 AM Wednesday November 27, 2013 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. Working to serve his chosen industry of lumber, he was President of Powell Lumber Company, President of the Kentucky Lumber Dealers Association and a long term board of directors member. During this time, he was also a member of the National Lumber Dealers Board of Directors. For over twenty years he served as a Sebree City Councilman. His choice of faith was a membership in the First Baptist Church of Sebree for many years. His hobbies included working in the lumber company and oil fields and collecting antique tools to display in “Bob’s building”. He was preceded in death by his parents J.R. and Maxine Powell. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Bettye Powell Mother: Nixie Powell Son: Jim Powell and wife Tina Daughter: Suzanne Pendleton and husband Gene all of Sebree 5 Grandchildren: Kelly De Vilder and husband Nick Marcus Powell Robert Pendleton Amanda Davis and husband Jeremy Jeff Pendleton and wife Kim 3 Great-grandchildren: Reese and Reagan Pendleton and Tyler De Vilder Brother: Bill Powell and wife Joyce Sister: Jane Warren and husband George Nieces and Nephews Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday November 30, 2013 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Sebree Chapel. Reverend Russell East, Reverend David Bumpus and Reverend Jim Shuck will officiate. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery in Sebree. Visitation will be Friday 4-8PM and Saturday 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation and St. Anthony’s Hospice of Webster County. Pallbearers will be Marcus Powell, Robert Pendleton, Jeff Pendleton, Nick De Vilder, Jeremy Davis, Scott Powell, Emery Warren and John Denton.
