James Gregory “Greg” Shoulders, age 64, of Henderson, passed away peacefully at Lucy Smith King Care Center surrounded by his loving family on May 11, 2026.
Born November 12, 1961, he was the son of Janet Bowlen (Pfeffer) and the late Aaron Thomas Shoulders. He was also preceded in death by his beloved stepfather, Dan Bowlen.
He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force before beginning a long career at Mead Johnson, where he retired in 2021 after more than 30 years of service. He was a hardworking and dedicated man who took great pride in providing for his family and was known for his strong work ethic, loyalty, and quiet strength.
He loved spending time outdoors hunting and fishing and was an avid sports fan who faithfully cheered on the Kentucky Wildcats, Dallas Cowboys, and St. Louis Cardinals. He also enjoyed watching classic westerns and appreciated the simple comforts of home and family.
He shared a special bond with his brothers and treasured the time spent with them and their families throughout his life. Over the last two years, he was lovingly cared for by his mother, where he enjoyed many home-cooked meals and cherished time by her side.
Above all else, his family was his greatest pride and joy. His children were his proudest accomplishment, and he dedicated his life to providing for and supporting them. Rendon was not only his son, but also his best friend. He especially treasured his six grandchildren and loved them deeply. Through his strength, wisdom, humor, and unconditional love, he gave his children and grandchildren a life full of security, guidance, and countless memories they will carry with them forever.
After battling glioblastoma for more than three years, he is now reunited in Heaven with his loyal companion, Buck, whom he dearly missed. Greg will always be remembered for his love of family, sweet smile, steady presence, witty sense of humor, undeniable strength, and the lasting impact he made on those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his children, Tiffany (Derek) Beck, Macey (Jared) Maier, and Rendon (Christin) Shoulders; his beloved grandchildren, Paxden and Finley Beck; Avery, Emersyn, and Cooper Maier; and Elsie James Shoulders; his mother, Janet “Jan” Bowlen; his brothers, Steve (Debbie) Shoulders and Michael (Laura) Shoulders; his step-brother, AJ (Marlo) Bowlen; his step-sister, Kelly (Jon) Callahan; his niece, Lexi (Justin) Tapp; and his nephew, Chad Shoulders, as well as the mother of his children, Janet McMillan (Raley), and her loving family.
