James E. Smith James E. Smith age 74 of Earlington, KY passed away at 4:44 a.m. Wednesday 04-28-10 at his home. He was born July 29, 1935 in Hopkins County to James Arthur and Edith Pendley Smith. He worked for TVA in the steam plant operations and he served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Earlington and was a member of the E. W. Turner Masonic Lodge #548 in Earlington. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter Rebecca Carver Smith in 2005 and one granddaughter Rebecca Frances Smith. He is survived by his wife Sarah Smith of Earlington, two sons Michael Smith and his wife Linda of Bowling Green, Dr. Kevin Smith and his wife Ruth of Lawrenceville, GA, one brother Donald Smith of Earlington, four grandchildren Bryan Smith of Glasgow, Allison Sevic of Mayfield, Amy Meece of Somerset, Shannon Radosevich of Gallatin, TN, six great-grandchildren and two nephews. His funeral will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday 04-30-10 at the First Baptist Church in Earlington with Dr. Kevin Smith and Bro. Bobby Sellers officiating. His burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Earlington with Masonic rights. His visitation will be 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Earlington. Visitation with the family will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday 04-29-10 at the Smith’s family home in Earlington.
