James “Jimmy” Cleveland Thomas

James “Jimmy” Cleveland Thomas, 84, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2026, under the care of Heart to Heart Hospice. He was born in Henderson, Kentucky, on July 8, 1942, to the late J.D. and Ernestine (Keach) Hall.

Jimmy was a dedicated and hardworking man who worked as a tool and maintenance manager at Vincent Plastics. He also spent 14 years serving as a bus driver for County School System, where he enjoyed making a difference in the lives of the students he transported.

A devoted member of Cash Creek Baptist Church, Jimmy faithfully served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. His faith and commitment to his church family were an important part of his life. Outside of work and church, Jimmy had a great love for raising cattle and took great pride in his time spent on the farm.

In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carolyn Patricia Thomas; and his sister, Jada Dee Hancock.

He is survived by his two children, Scott Thomas (Susan) and Tina Holaday (Bud); five grandchildren, Christa Wilson (Barry), Carli Thomas, Taylor Harris (Nick), Nate Thomas, and Matt Thomas; and five great-grandchildren, Eva and Jagger Gilford, Emmi and Monroe Harris, and Eleanor Thomas Davis.

Graveside service will be help on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Fairmont Chapel with Robert Duncan officiating.

Jimmy will be remembered for his strong faith, hardworking spirit, love of family, and dedication to his church and community. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will remain with his family and all who knew him.

Pallbearers will be, Nate Thomas, Matt Thomas, Jagger Gilford, Nick Harris, Jonathan Davis, and Barry Wilson.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made out to Cash Creek Church.
