James Odie Wells

James O. Wells, 81 of Slaughters, KY passed away Monday June 2, 2014 at his home. He was born in Hopkins County, KY on February 19, 1933 to the late Odie and Leona (Knight) Wells. He was a retired UMWA Coal Miner with Providence #1 after 38 years and a farmer. He was a member of Mt. Gilead General Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son; Jimmy Wells (1975), and 3 brothers; Robert Wells, Bobby Wells, and Harold Dean Wells. He is survived by his wife Marcella (Pool) Wells. 2 sons; Kenneth Wells Lyndall Wells Both of Slaughters, KY 2 sisters; Ann Clark Glenda Sullivan Both of Madisonville, KY 4 Brothers; Billy Wells of Hanson, KY Ray Wells of Nortonville, KY Charles Wells of Slaughters, KY Jerry Wells of Nortonville, KY 3 grandchildren; Joni Richmond Hollie Markham Clint Wells 4 great grandchildren Several nieces and nephews Services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday June 5, 2014 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Slaughters-Hanson Chapel with Brother Harry Baldwin officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be private. Memorial Contributions may be made to Slaughters Volunteer Fire Department.
