James Dale Woodard

James Dale “Pedro” Woodard, 66, of Henderson, KY passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN surrounded by his loving family. James was born January 21, 1954 in Henderson to the late James W. and Bonnie (Nelson) Woodard. He was semi-retired from Woodard Heating and Air and was a member of Bellfield Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Debbie (Hancock) Woodard. He is survived by his 3 sons, Paul Woodard (Patricia) of Sturgis KY, Chuck Woodard (Shara) of Evansville, IN, Kenny Evans (Charmin) of Henderson KY; two sisters, Sherry Stone (Jackie) of Henderson KY, Nina Carter of TN; ten grandchildren, one great granddaughter and two more great grandchildren on the way.  A memorial service will be held on Sunday October 4, 2020 at Bellfield Baptist Church in Anthoston. Visitation will be from 2-3:30 PM with a service starting at 3:30 PM. Brother Dillion will officiate. James never met a stranger and would help anyone with anything they needed. Whether it was a helping hand, a meal bought or just someone to talk to, you could count on him to be the first to jump in and the last to leave. Everyone that he encountered liked him and counted him as a true friend. from his early days in the oil fields to his long-time career of heating and air. James was an asset, not only to his employers but also to his family and friends. in all my years, I have never heard anyone speak bad of him. He was a huge story teller and if you really knew him you knew you couldn’t believe a single word he said, but if he was your friend you also knew you could count on him at a moment’s notice. He was loved by his family and supported his children and grandchildren in everything they did, from fixing up hot rods to traveling with ball teams, paw-paw was there to root them on! Don’t cry because his journey is over…smile because you were blessed to be a part of it. We are the lucky ones to have known Pedro Woodard. Tomblinson Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
