Janet Marie Kenney

Janet Marie (Combs) Kenney, 86, of Henderson, passed away Tuesday morning January 30th, 2024, at the home of her daughter, and surrounded by family.

Janet was born in Romney, West Virginia on February 9th, 1937. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Helen Combs, her husband Allen G. Kenney, her son, Mark Anthony Kenney, and her granddaughter Olivia Folsom.

She is survived by her two daughters Pam (Steve) Raleigh, and Julie (Johnny) Folsom, six grandchildren Sarah (Cory)Stewart, Amy (Troy)Meadows, Maria (Scott) Daniel, John Raleigh (Mariam Mongi), Emily (Josh) Boston, and Elijah (Katie) Folsom. She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren, Alex (Taylor), Dru, Maxton, Zain, Traeson, Norah, Ramsey, Jude, Raleigh, Annie, Rowan, Hayes and Emmy.

Jan and Al became charter members of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in 1961, where she attended as long as she was able. She was previously an organist and sang in the choir for many years. She dedicated more than 30 years to local pediatricians, Dr’s Cantley, Crick, Fife and Ervin. Jan was very devoted to her family, considered by all to be an excellent cook, and loved to serve large meals for all who would fit in the house

Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 1st from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and Friday, Feb. 2nd from 10:00 am until service time, at Chapel Hill Church, 2601 U.S.60 East, Henderson. Services will be at Noon on Friday, also at the Church, with Pastor Rick Nollmann officiating. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Tomblinson Funeral Home, Henderson Chapel.
