Janice Carol Dixon

Janice Carol (Buckman) Dixon, 82 of Corydon passed away May 22, 2025, surrounded by her family at Homeplace of Henderson under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice.

She was born August 11, 1942, to the late Leslie Buckman and Dorothy (Smith) Hammonds.

Janice, a devoted wife of more than 60 years to Donald Dixon, mother, and cherished member of the Corydon community. She was a faithful and longtime member of Corydon United Methodist Church, where her kind spirit and steadfast faith were a blessing to all who knew her.

Janice dedicated her life to her family as a loving homemaker, raising three children with patience, warmth, and unwavering love. Her home was a place of comfort and joy, filled with homemade meals, laughter, and the gentle strength of her presence.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Harris Dixon, Sr.; brothers and sisters, Donald Buckman, Phyllis Murphy, Larry Buckman and Judy Walton.

Janice is survived by her three children, Don Dixon, (Wendy), Michael Dixon (Shannon) and Susan Blanford (Keith); grandchildren, Jonathan Dixon (Angela), Jeremy Dixon (Holly), Sonny Hurt (Emily), Rachel Trout (Brandon), Darrell Hurt (Jennifer), Tiffany Chandler (Matt), Lauren Dixon and her fiancé (Chris Kiessling), David Blanford and Paul Blanford (Holli); great grandchildren, Hudson Dixon, Haddon Dixon, Braydon Dixon, Jack Dixon, Solomon Dixon, Max Hurt, Jaxson Trout, Kamryn Trout, Luke Trout, Olivia Trout, Gage Hurt, Hunter Hurt, Nik Brown, Maggie Chandler, Odin Chandler, Presleigh Yates, Anakin Yates, Caroline Yates, Savannah Kiessling and Morgan Kiessling and Matthew Kiessling; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, May 28 at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson with Rev. Mary Wrye and Rev. Vernon Timberlake officiating with burial in Shady Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be 2:00 PM-8:00 PM, Tuesday, May 27 and 8:00 AM until service time Wednesday, May 28 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, David Blanford, Paul Blanford, Jonathan Dixon, Jeremy Dixon, Sonny Hurt and Darrell Hurt.
