Jason Thomas Du

Jason Thomas Du, age 43, passed away peacefully in his home in Indianapolis, Indiana, on Tuesday, May 13th, 2025. He was born on October 2nd, 1981, in Henderson, Kentucky.

Jason Thomas was preceded in death by his father, Jason Chien Du; his grandparents, Sam and Phyllis Majors; his beloved Awma in Taiwan; and his Uncle Randy.

He is survived by his mother, Kathy Du; his brother, Eric Du; his uncles Larry, Bud, and Stevie; his aunts Valda, Kay, and Jo; and his honorary sisters, including Nicole Majors, Jennifer and Jessica Du, and Samantha Cummins.

Jason will be remembered as an exuberant and carefree soul who brought joy to those around him. He had a gift for making people smile and never took life too seriously. He worked for many years as a warehouse worker in the postal industry, living between Columbus, Ohio, and Phoenix, Arizona.

He loved the outdoors, especially hiking through the desert landscapes of Arizona, surrounded by mountains and cacti. A true foodie at heart, Jason had a special love for Asian cuisine and was always up for a visit to his favorite Chinese buffet.

Growing up in the '80s, he was a lifelong fan of comic books and superheroes—especially the X-Men—and had a deep appreciation for arthouse culture. Music was a big part of his life, and he counted R&B singer Brandy as his favorite artist, attending her concerts with great joy. He also had a thoughtful side and enjoyed reading philosophy and classical literature.

A funeral service will be held at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson, Kentucky, on Wednesday, May 21st, at 11:00 AM. A viewing will take place the evening before, Tuesday, May 20th, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, at the same location.  Pastor Rusty DeBord and Bro. Jack Ross will officiate.

Pallbearers will include Eric Du, Steven Mitchell, Shea Majors, and Dustin Manor. Honorary pallbearers are Isaac Hayden and Dylan Manor.
