Jeff Harper

Jeff Curtis Harper, 69, of Benton, passed away August 18, 2026, at Baptist Health Hospital in Paducah.

Jeff was born in McCracken County to the late Joe and Bettye (Devine) Harper. He was a member of Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church and a proud U.S. Navy veteran.

Jeff was a hard worker who spent his career as a welder, working at Walker Boat Yard and James Marine before retiring from Progressive Rail. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and U.K. basketball fan. He also enjoyed bowling and spending time outdoors. Above all, Jeff was a devoted family man who cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jeff is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Vicky (Uzzle) Harper; his children, Chad Harper (Lindsay) and Kayla Joseph (Justin); his siblings, Brad Harper, Matt Harper (Karen), and Kim Russell (Jeff); his grandchildren, Bella, Noah, Jett, and Chloe; and several nieces, nephews, great-nephews, and great-nieces.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, with Bro. Jack Kee and Bro. Jeff Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Hamlet Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, August 20, 2026, at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and from 10:00 AM Saturday until the service time at the church.

Pallbearers will be Matt Harper, Noah Joseph, Justin Joseph, Danny Uzzle, Corey Inglish, Bunk Inglish, and Jeff Russell.

Honorary pallbearers will be Brad Harper, Jett Joseph, Matthew Tolbert, Jamie Hardy, and Trey Graves.
