Jeffrey Douglas Owen 63 of Henderson a proud veteran of the United States Army, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his loving family under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice.
Jeffrey was born in Sturgis, Kentucky, to James E. and Wanda (Vancleave) Owen. He lived a fulfilling life filled with joy and cherished moments. Jeffrey had a passion for collecting and building model trains and train sets, finding solace in the intricate details and craftsmanship. He also found great pleasure in fishing, camping, and woodworking, activities that brought him closer to nature and allowed him to express his creativity.
In addition to his hobbies, Jeffrey deeply cherished his family. He was a devoted husband to his loving wife of 32 years, Phyllis Owen. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Jeffrey was a proud father to his children James Owen, Jamie Lee Owen, Jennifer Hou (Sam), and Terri Jo Owen. His unconditional love and unwavering support were evident in every moment shared with his family. Jeffrey also leaves behind his siblings Darrell Owen and Greta Barnett, as well as his cherished grandchildren Hunter and Amelia.
Jeffrey's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his father, James E. Owen and his sister Janel Pike, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
A private service to honor and celebrate Jeffrey's life will be held at a later date.
Jeffrey will be deeply missed but never forgotten, as his legacy of love and kindness continues to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
