Jerry Leon Brashear, 80, of Henderson, passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Deaconess Gateway. He was born in Morganfield on December 20, 1940 to the late Lewis Melton and Marie (Baker) Brashear. Jerry had previously owned and retired from Brashear Tire and was of the Baptist Faith. He enjoyed life and was very skilled in the art of stained glass, drawing, and painting. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Ronald L. Brashear. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Nancy Brashear; daughter, Melissa Lutz (David) of Henderson; grandson, Christopher David Lutz; and grandpups, Lexi and Zander. Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday March 27, 2021 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel with Pastor John Choi officiating. Entombment will be in Fairmont Cemetery with military rites conducted by the American Legion Worsham Post #40 Honor Guard. A bereavement dinner will follow at Cairo United Methodist Church. Due to COVID restrictions, dinner is reserved for family only. Visitation will be Saturday, 9:30 AM until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Mike Workins, Mark Whitson, Arthur Ellis, Christopher Lutz, Grant Ellis, Carson Ellis, and Jeffrey B. Haskett. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ronnie Woods, Mark Ralph, Ralph Brown, Kyle Cox, Chop Cox, T.J. McGuire, Daniel Ice, and Butch Cox. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to New Hope Animal Rescue.
