Jerry Denton Hedden

Jerry Denton Hedden, 82, of Robards, passed away Thursday April 3, 2025 at the Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson.

Jerry Hedden was born on January 11, 1943, in Askins, KY, to the late William Denton and Anola (Moxley) Hedden. A proud U.S. Marine veteran, he was a devoted member of Shady Grove General Baptist Church, where he previously served as a deacon. He also served as a committeeman and member of International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers Local 2186. Jerry retired from Cresline after 32 years of dedicated service. Alongside his wife, he ran “Robards Upholstery” from their home, showcasing their craftsmanship.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother Mary “Sue” (Overfield) Hedden and brother Darrell Hedden.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years Linda Hedden; two children Stephanie Harper of Robards, Steve Hedden (Teresa) of Orem, Utah; three sisters Linda White (Pete) of Indiana, Lora Hicks (Dale) of Missouri, Toni Braun (Dave) of Alabama; two brothers Gary Hedden (Sherry), Stuart Hedden (Judy) all of Missouri; six grandchildren Jacob Hedden, Luke Harper, Alex Hedden, Ryan Christensen, Avery Christensen, Shyloh Lyon; one great-grandchild Mage Christensen, several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday April 9, 2025 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Sebree Chapel with Pastor Logan Hensley officiating. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery with military rites conducted by the American Legion Worsham Post 40 Honor Guard.

Visitation will be Tuesday 3-7 PM and Wednesday 11 AM until service time at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Hedden, Luke Harper, Alex Hedden, Kenny Davis, Jim Newcom and Josh Vincent.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Shady Grove General Baptist Church.
