Jerry Sylvester Higgins

Jerry Sylvester Higgins, 70 of Slaughters, Ky passed away Friday April 17 at his residence. He was born February 28, 1939 in St. Charles, KY to Henry Norris and Maggie Lois (Brunson) Higgins. He was retired from Dougherty Petroleum Co. as an oil well pumper. He was an Army veteran and a member of Mt. Gilead General Baptist Church He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Donald Higgins. He is survived by his wife of 42 years Jeanette Ann (Smith) Higgins of Slaughters, KY 6 sons: Jerry Norris Higgins of Floyd Knobs, IN Michael Jack Bailey of Crofton, KY Patrick John Bailey of Shelby, NC Martin Erick Bailey of Long Beach, CA Jerry Kevin Higgins of CA Colin Moore Higgins of CA 1 sister: Sonja Pauline Lynn of Dawson Springs, KY 1 brother: Jimmie Raye Higgins of Herndon, KY 9 grandchildren 5 great grandchildren Services will be 10 AM Friday April 24 at Mt. Gilead General Baptist Church in Slaughters, KY. Pastor Steve Dame and Pastor Alec Hensley will officiate. There will be no visitation prior to the service. Burial will be Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, KY Tomblinson Funeral Home Slaughters-Hanson Chapel is handling arrangements.
