Jesse Patrick Smith

Jesse Patrick Smith, 85, of Henderson, KY, passed away March 17, 2024, at home surrounded by his family, under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice.

He was born in Princeton, KY on September 5, 1938.

Jesse was an operation manager for the Courier and Press and founded Sportsmen’s Corner. He attended Day Spring Church of God of Prophecy. Jesse loved hunting, fishing, playing the guitar, and enjoyed playing with the Ohio Valley Gospel Music Group. Most of all, he loved and adored his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Beverly J. Smith; sister, Wanda Letha Swart; grandson, Joshua Freeland; his mother, Mattie Sigler and step-father, Grundy Sigler.

Jesse is survived by his daughters, Monica Curl, Jessica Long, Diane (Tony) Mcbride, and Kathy (Jeff) Dorris; his sisters; Alice (David) Johnson; Carolyn (Donald) Bridges; brother, Danny (Kathy) Sigler; grandchildren, Joseph Nutgrass, Amy Hager (Frankie Oliver), Tiffany (Tim) Johnson, Amber (Bryan) Caldwell, Corbin (Jamie) Long, Riley Long, Joey (Jacqueline) McBride, Chad Cavanah, Katie McBride, Paige Dorris, and Aaron Dorris; great grandchildren, Tristan Hager, Kingston Oliver, Kai Johnson, Kira (Justin) O’Neal, Jace (Madison) Caldwell, Jaydon Caldwell, Bryanna Caldwell, Camden Long, Hayden Long, Jack Cavanah, and Jacob Probus; great-great grandchildren, Serenity Hager, Baja Hager, Remington Caldwell, Nova Hager, and Mac Hager.

Services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson with Pastor Greg Lindsey officiating.

Pallbearers will be E.A. Nix, Jace Caldwell, Jaydon Caldwell, Tristan Hager, Kingston Oliver, and Jacob Probus.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 23, 2024 until the service time at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
