Jewel Edward Downing

Jewel Edward Downing, 76 of Onton, Ky passed away at 7:18 AM Sunday at his home. He was born in Beech Creek, KY on May 12. 1933 to the late Allie and Icy (Barbee) Downing. He was a member of the Canton Baptist Church in Canton, KY. He was retired from Faultless Caster Company in Evansville, IN (1995) where he was a member of the Machinist Local Union. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to garden. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 4 brothers; Paul, Bee, Lee, and Doug Downing, 2 sisters; Agnes and Neila Downing, 2 grandchildren, Beth and Sarah Downing. He is survived by his wife; Peggy (Shirley) Downing of Onton, KY 1 son; Michael Downing, of Chandler, In 3 Daughters; Cherree Perigo of Evansville, IN Margie Lynn Miller of Crawfordsville, IN Kelly Davis of Newburgh, IN 2 Step Daughters; Renae Loesch of Evansville, IN Terry Kitzinger of Evansville, IN 2 Brothers; Barny Downing of Pleasand Hope, MO Newman Downing of Sarasota, FL 1 Sister; Addie Stewart of Sycamore, IL 7 Grandchildren 2 Great Grandchildren Services will be held Wednesday August 12, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the Tomblinson Funeral Home Sebree Chapel. Bro. Paul Cannon will officate. Burial will be in Onton Cemetery in Onton, KY. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 and and Wednesday from 9:00 am until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Mike Downing, Darrin Miller, David Downing, Josh Downing, Mike Chadwick, and Jay Loesch
