Jimmie Powell

Jimmie Marshall Powell, 81 of Corydon passed away December 1, 2017 at his residence under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice.  He was born January 10, 1936 in Henderson Co. to the late Marshall and Mary Powell.  He was of the Baptist Faith and attended Union Hill Baptist Church and had worked at Alcan Aluminum. Jimmie loved to hunt, fish and camp.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 sister; Margaret Blanford. He is survived by his wife of 59 years; Faye Powell, 3 children; Tamara Shelton and her husband Mike of Little Dixie, Timmy Powell and his wife Joanie of Corydon, Judy Powell of Little Dixie, 2 sister; Joyce Caton and Christine McGill both of Corydon, 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be Monday, 11:00 AM at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson.  Rev. Chad Johnson will officiate with burial in Corydon Cemetery.  Visitation will be Sunday, 3:00 PM-7:00 PM and Monday, 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
