Jo Evelyn (Cates) Majors 76, of Nebo, passed away on Wednesday June 25, 2014 in her home. She was born on March 3, 1938 to the late Lennie Cates and Mae Cunningham Cates. She married Clyde Majors on March 26, 1962. She was most recently a homemaker, but had worked previously for Ricky Winn Construction and Woodruff Supply. She was a member of Stoney Point Primitive Baptist Church in Dalton. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers William Cates, Earl Cates, and Irvin Cates, and two sisters, Mary Moffit and Louise Waide. Survivors- Spouse- Clyde Majors of Nebo Sons- Ricky (Jann) Thurby of Madisonville Mark Thurby of White Plains Daughters- Debbie (Danny) Utterback of Manitou Mary Lou (John) Ruddell of Nebo Sisters- Emma Hickey of Marion, KY Pauline Cunningham of Madisonville Brother- L.J. Cates of Owensboro, KY. 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 2:00 on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Slaughters-Hanson Chapel with Bro. Donnie Coursey officiating. Visitation will be on Friday June 27, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m and on Saturday from 10:00 until service time. Burial will be at Springdale Cemetery in Sebree. Pallbearers will be Chris Utterback, John Ruddell, Sean Ruddell, Tyler Thurby, Brian Thurby, and Matthew Thurby.
