John D. Conn died May 26, 2026, in Henderson, KY, under the care of St. Anthony's Hospice and surrounded by his loving family.

He was born May 5, 1935, in Livingston County, KY to the late Bill and Gertrude Conn.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Conn and wife Norma; his sister, Ann Ferrell and husband Frank; and his sister-in-law, June Jamieson.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Janell Conn; one son, David Conn of Dallas, TX; one daughter, Susan (Kelly) Turley of Henderson, KY; two granddaughters, Jenna Lee (Scott) Neuhoff of Richmond, VA and Lena Anderson of Dallas, TX; one sister, Marie Moring (Foy Yancey) of Chandler, AZ; one brother-in-law, Jimmy Rudd of Smithland, KY; as well as several nieces and nephews.

John was an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). He held degrees from Kentucky Wesleyan College, Saint Paul School of Theology in Kansas City, MO, and Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis, IN. He served as a chaplain at Methodist Hospital in Henderson, KY, and later as Director of Methodist Hospital's Department of Pastoral Care and Counseling, where he served for over twenty years before retiring in 2021.

John's favorite scripture was Matthew, Chapter 25, and he tried to live by its teachings. He loved being in the presence of laughter.

John requested that, in lieu of flowers or other memorials, those wishing to honor his memory perform a random act of kindness for another person or make a donation to St. Anthony's Hospice in Henderson, KY.

John will be cremated, and his remains will be placed at Scotts Chapel Cemetery in Livingston County, KY, alongside other family members. In honoring his wishes, there will be a private family memorial and burial service at the cemetery.
