John David Horn

January 7, 1943 — September 29, 2023

John David Horn, 80, of Spottsville, passed away Friday September, 29, 2023 at his home.

He was born in Henderson on January 7, 1943 to the late Luther and Josie Bell (Ellison) Horn.

John was a member of the IUOE Local 181. He was both a Cardinal and UK Fan, enjoyed helping his son coach softball but most of all, he loved playing with his great-grandkids.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers Tommy, Jimmy and Gary Horn.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years Mary Ruth Horn; two sons Jeffery Horn (Nancy), Jason Horn; two sisters Joyce Powell (Tom), Barbara Powell (Paul); one granddaughter Jennifer Givens; three great-grandchildren Caleb, Cooper and Scarlett.

Services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday October 4, 2023 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel with Bro. Kenny Kidd officiating.

Visitation will be Wednesday 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery.
