John William "Johnny" Ottens

John William Ottens John "Johnny" Ottens of Sebree, KY went to be with our Lord and Savior on January 6, 2012 at the age of 83. He passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville, with his entire family at his side. He was an active member of the Sebree United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the Korean war. He was also an avid race car fan. He was a loving husband, wonderful father and grandfather. His entire life was totally committed to his family. He was a gentle giant and everyone who met him loved him. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Adrian and Catherine Ottens. He is survived by his wife, Mabel, of sixty years; five daughters, Linda (Gary McInerney) of Hobe Sound, Florida; Pamela Urban of Raymore, Missouri; Cathy (Rocky Castiello) of Bloomfield, New Jersey; Susan (Chuck Gaidica) of Northville, Michigan; and Sharon (Barry Ray) of Evansville, Indiana. He was blessed with fourteen grandchildren; Brennan, Spencer, Darby, Tiffany, Charlie, Matthew, Kelsey, Riley, Ryan, Patrick, Kevin, Molly, Whitney and Emily and six great-grandchildren; Liam, Adam, Wyatt, Ethan, Quinn and Sloan. He is also survived by one sister, Marie Van Dyke of Newhall, California and many loving nieces and nephews. The pallbearers will be C. E."Jake" Johnson, Eddie Johnson, Benjie Dunville, Tom Raleigh, and grandsons Brennan Dunville, Charlie Gaidica, Matthew Gaidica and Spencer Ray. Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Perrin, Joe Allen, Leroy Cobb and Shirley Ranes. Visitation will be on Sunday, January 8th from 4-8pm at Tomblinson Funeral Home Sebree Chapel and on Monday, January 9th from 11:00am until 2:00pm. Services will be held at the funeral home at 2:00pm immediately following visitation. The reverend James Shuck will officiate. Burial will be at Springdale Cemetery in Sebree, with full military rites by American Legion, Worsham Post 40, of Henderson. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Sebree United Methodist Church.
