John Joseph Rooney, Iii

John Joseph Rooney III, 68, of Spottsville, KY, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2023 at his home.

Mr. Rooney was born August 2, 1954 in Henderson, KY to the late John and Irene Rooney. He enjoyed being outdoors, camping, and boating. He loved being with his family and playing with his grandkids.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tom Rooney.

Mr. Rooney is survived by his life partner of 28 years, Darlene Bishop; children, Jonathan Rooney of Henderson, Ky, Brittany Rooney of Henderson, KY; sisters, Mary Edna Hoosaflock of Virginia, Ann Woosley of Henderson, KY; brother, Larry Rooney of Evansville, IN and two grandchildren, Aralyn Brielle Rooney and William Rae Rooney both of Henderson, KY.

Funeral services will be Thursday, February 23, 2023, 11:00 AM at Tomblinson Funeral Home, Henderson Chapel with Allen Butler and Ellis Payne officiating, Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Reed, KY.

Visitation will Wednesday, February 22, 2023, 3:00-7:00 PM and Thursday 9:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Terry Duncan, Gary Goldsberry, Billy Goldsberry, Scott Hayes, Brett Thurman, and Mikey Haire.
