John Davis Watson

October 31, 1945 — February 3, 2023

John Davis Watson, 77, of Henderson passed away February 3, 2023, following a brief illness.


He was born in Webster County to the late Arch and Sarah (Gray) Watson.


John retired from WEHT as Chief Engineer. He was a member of First Baptist Church and was a US Army veteran.


He enjoyed tinkering with electronics. He was an avid radio operator and enjoyed wood working.


John especially loved his family. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and left a lasting legacy of mentorship to all of them.


In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings Bertha Jayne Hill and GW Watson.

John is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Clara Jo (Buchanan) Watson; daughters Anna Gibson (Darren) and Cathy White (Toby); his brother Jim Watson; 6 Grandchildren; 3 Great Grandchildren and nieces.


A celebration of his life will be 2:00 PM Monday February 6, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Henderson

Visitation will be 2:00 PM-6:00 PM Sunday February 5, 2023, at Tomblinson Funeral in Henderson.


Memorial contributions can be made to the Gideon or First Baptist Church.
