Jonathan Curry Young, 42, of Poole, passed away Friday, June 18, 2021 at Deaconess Hospital in Henderson. Beloved son of James and Deborah Young, he was born in Sturgis on December 4, 1978. Brother of Benjamin Young, Joy Parker, Johanna Barnett and Mary-Martha Tharp, he was Uncle Jon to his 16 nieces and nephews. Jonathan worked at Gibbs Die-casting in Henderson for many years before going to work at Webster County Coal for eight years. He then worked as Deputy Jailer at Webster County Detention Facility, where he was promoted to Sargent. He took pride in his work. He greatly enjoyed being a deputy jailer and cared for the inmates as he was one to always root for the underdog. Jonathan was an avid outdoorsman and survivalist who loved to explore the woods, fish, and hunt. He was the epitome of a mountain man and a skilled harmonica player who enjoyed cooking and grilling for his family. Funeral service will be held at Tomblinson Funeral Home, Sebree Chapel on Tuesday, June 22 at 2 p.m.. Service will be officiated by his Dad, James Young. If you have a memory of Jonathan you would like to share in the service, we would love to hear them. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery in Poole. Visitation will on Tuesday, June 22 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Tomblinson Funeral Home.
