Joshua Stott

Joshua Stott, age 59, of Henderson, KY, passed away Friday, May 29, 2026, at Deaconess Henderson Hospital.

Joshua played basketball all throughout middle school and Henderson County High School, where classmates remember him as a star athlete. He had a huge heart and loved everyone. Joshua was a loving father, grandfather, and protector of his family. He was a father figure to many young people he met throughout his years. A man of faith, Joshua was often seen outside in the morning with his hands raised in prayer, giving thanks for the day ahead. Joshua loved cooking on the grill. He enjoyed weightlifting and was an amateur boxer.

Joshua was preceded in death by his parents, George "Bozo" Hazelwood and Martha Hazelwood; brothers, James Stott and Jody Stott; sister, Gloria Morgan; nephew, Trison Taylor; grandparents, William and Marlin Stott; great-grandparents, Ralph and Mabel Hay; and several aunts and uncles.

Joshua is survived by his daughters, Ja'Leesa Stott, Deidre Stott, Jada Stott, and Makia Stott Frederick (DaKota), all of Henderson, KY; mother of his oldest daughter, LaDonna Petrie; mother of his youngest daughters, Crystal Stott; sisters, Sevadra Hazelwood of Evansville, IN, and Judy Cartwright (Harold) of Henderson, KY; brother, Ronald Stott (Adrianne) of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Damarion, Kaelyn, Raelyn, Genaro, Azariah, Armando, Rai'Anna, and Kelan Stott; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 11:00 AM, June 17, 2026 at Fernwood Cemetery.

The family encourages everyone to wear purple in honor of Joshua at the visitation and funeral service on Thursday, June 11, 2026.
